Mar Thoma School for the Deaf, a mission of the Mar Thoma Church to reach out and care the Hearing Impaired is one of the pioneer educations institutions in North Kerala. The school started in 1981, the international Year of the Disabled. During its fruitful existence over a period of 35 years, the school had contributed towards enabling a large number of less privileged and differently abled children in getting integrated into the main stream of the society. To a greet extent, our school is becoming instrumental in narrowing the wide gap between the hearing impaired and the world of the hearing majority.
The school is run by Kunnamkulam-Malabar Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church. Rev.Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa, the Diocesan Bishop provides the inspiration and guidance as the Manager of the school and the president of the Governing Body
